PHASE ONE
- Three treatments per week for the first two weeks
During this phase, a healthcare provider may also prescribe:
- Restricted physical activity
- Adjunctive therapies including interferential frequency therapy and cold packs.
PHASE TWO
- Three treatments per week for two weeks
During this phase, a healthcare provider may also prescribe:
- Gentle stretching exercises
- Light activity
- Adjunctive therapies including interferential frequency therapy and cold packs.
PHASE THREE
- Three treatments per week for two weeks
During this phase, a healthcare provider may also prescribe:
- Patients who have improved by 50% are instructed on different cervical stretching exercises.
- Adjunctive therapies including interferential frequency therapy and cold packs.
Inclusion criteria
- Pain due to herniated and bulging cervical discs, that is more than four weeks old
- Recurrent pain from a failed neck surgery that is more than twelve months old
- Persistent pain from degenerated discs not responding to four weeks of therapy
- Patients available for six weeks of treatment protocol
- Patient at least 18 years of age
Exclusion criteria
- Unstable Spines
- Recent vertebral fractures
- Spinal canal stenosis with cord compression
- Pregnancy in 2nd and 3rd trimester
- Prior fusion less than 12 months old
- Vascular problems of carotid or vertebral arteries
- Positive Georges Test
- Severe peripheral neuropathy
- Metastatic cancer
- Severe osteoporosis
- Spondylolisthesis (unstable)
- History of stroke
- Infections
- Congenital defects
- Irregularities in Georges line, Mc Gregors line or increased ADI spacing
- Disc space infections
- Hemiplegia, paraplegia, or cognitive dysfunction
