The patient protocol provides for twenty treatments of spinal decompression over a six-week course of therapy. Each session consists of approximately a 30 minute treatment on the DRX9000 True Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression System™. The treatment may be followed by fifteen minutes of ice and interferential frequency therapy. The patient regimen includes two weeks of daily spinal decompression treatment, followed by three sessions per week for two weeks, concluding with two sessions per week for the remaining two weeks of therapy.

According to patient condition, during the initial two weeks of treatment, the patients may be instructed to wear lumbar support belts, limit activities, and are placed on light duty at work. After the second week of treatment, beginning activity is permitted. Patients who have improved by 50% are instructed on various lumbar stretching exercises to be performed in conjunction with treatment.
